The `Speare Bearer: Emerald Forest, Adult Foster Care, Marshall, Michigan, 08/23

I don’t know why. I think i always wanted to perform in a Foster care home for kids… these aren’t exactly kids. Well two of them were, this was more assissted living. But nonetheless, I performed here. VERY interesting experience. There are only 2 of the 3 residents present, the other a 100 yr old lady, wasn’t in the mood for any One-Man Street Shakespeare just then. I don’t blame her. The second lady from the right took a break from her oxygen treatment to watch me. She didn’t seem too impressed, but she did give me a little donation, so who knows?

Wild.

The `Speare Bearer’s Ride: Oldie’s Ball, Libertyville, IL, 08/10

The Rajchel’s took me to an oldies ball in their town. Lots of older party people having a good time, dancing to great oldies music. Many of the people there are people in grieiving like the Rajchels, so they try to get together as much as they can to have fun. It was a fun time.

The `Speare Bearer: My friend, The Red Bastard.

My friend Eric Davis, the Red Bastard, an incredible performer/artist/clown, lives in Hollywood, CA, where he performs in the Cirque de Soleil show, Iris, and he was nice enough to let me stay with him, and his wonderful girlfriend Deanna Fleysher, also a terrific actor/artist/clown while I was in town.

I interned for Eric in New York for a year and a half before he moved out to Cali, and learned so so much in that time, including the beauty and precision, and seductive immediacy of clown, and the kind of high high standards an artist should hold them selves to.

I hadn’t seen him and Deanna in a long time so it was wonderful to be able to catch a Red Bastard show (He does on a month in Hollywood, on a Monday, the only day he’s off from Cirque, and you’d be an IDIOT not to catch it. It’s a wild, mind-bending, freak-out of a show) and spend some time. Just wanted to post some of his work, and really encourage you to try to catch his show if you’re ever in the area.
